 ArtsFest 2006

| The Choir Stall | Artsfest weekend dawned bright and sunny,
which was a great relief after the near floods of last year. The amazing weather
also meant that the stall was busy almost constantly over the two days -
organisers think it may have been the busiest Artsfest ever. I'm also
pleased to say that we always had plenty of willing choir members to
help man the stall, who seemed to enjoy the opportunity to sell the choir
to potential new audiences and choir members. We're very grateful to everyone
who helped out over the weekend.

| Workshop in the Conservatoire | The workshop was particularly successful - we managed to more or less fill
the Recital Hall at the Conservatoire, and, thanks to Colin's enthusiasm,
everyone seemed to have a good time.
Big Voice2 was, as would be expected, a unique experience.
With Michael Brewer, conductor of the National Youth Choir, as Master of
Ceremonies, we gave a performance that teetered on the brink of chaos, but
was hugely enjoyable. Some of us sang (shouted?) ourselves nearly hoarse.
I don't know how it sounded to the people in Centenary Square ...

| Big Voice 2 | Judging by the number of new members at the rehearsal last week, and
the long list of people who signed up for the mailing list, Artsfest 2006
seems to have been a success; but then we had more than a little help
from the weather!
