was again favoured with beautiful weather this year, which I'm sure
encouraged a lot more visitors to the festival. The new position of
the stalls on New Street meant that we had a constant flow of people
walking past our stall. Many visitors were interested, and excited,
to learn that we would be performing in the Town Hall again this year,
and there was a lot of interest both in our concerts and from those
interested in singing with us.
Our performance on Saturday afternoon at the CBSO Centre was very
successful. We were excellently warmed-up by Les and conducted in the
performance by Colin. Everything went smoothly, with several members
making valiant efforts to combine different events with other
organisations. |
| The stall on New Street | We
were particularly impressed by Claire and Suzzie, the conductors of
Voice Factory, who had to run from the Art Gallery to the CBSO Centre,
as their performance with Ex Cathedra had started late. However, a brief
break in proceedings while we waited for them gave David an excellent
opportunity to explain Voice Factory and advertise our upcoming concerts.
The children, accompanied on the piano by Mark Lawrence, performed
brilliantly, and I think all the choir members who were there are now
looking forward to hearing the children sing again at our Christmas
concert. The audience was relatively small, as the CBSO Centre is a
little out of the way of other Artsfest venues, but very appreciative.
All in all, I think we can say that we had another successful year at
Artsfest, so thank you to everyone for your help on the stall and in
the performance.
