Saturday, 13th May 2023 at 7:00pm; Elgar Concert Hall, University of Birmingham, Bramall Music Building, University of Birmingham, Birmingham, UK B15 2TT.
Join the City of Birmingham Choir for an exhilarating evening of music and spoken word with a refreshing programme of less well-known but nonetheless wonderful music from established composers. The concert begins with Benjamin Britten’s dramatic work, ‘The Company of Heaven’, with spoken word, chorus and orchestra which will be followed by contemporary composer, Cecilia McDowall’s ‘Ave Maris Stella’ and the 20th century conductor, composer and violinist, Susan Spain-Dunk’s exquisite ‘Suite for Strings’. The evening will finish with Gerald Finzi’s uplifting and stirring ‘Magnificat’.
With fine soloists and chamber orchestra, we look forward to performing again in the Elgar Concert Hall.
