Essentially English, Tewkesbury Abbey

Indulge yourself in an evening of truly glorious English choral music, with works by Elgar, Howells, Byrd, Finzi and Leighton. Tewkesbury Abbey

The English choral repertoire provides a wealth of music to grace a sunny summer evening concert. The rich textures of Howells’ somber but beautiful Requiem are offset by the sunny, lyrical lines of Gerald Finzi and Edward Elgar.

Adrian Lucas says… ‘A glass of Pimms is not essential, but highly recommended, before or after at your own choice!’

Elgar: Great is the Lord
Howells: Requiem
Organ solo – John Ireland: Elegiac Romance
Byrd: Laudibus in sanctis
Finzi: Magnificat
Leighton: Crucifixus pro nobis
Elgar: Give unto the Lord
