We very much enjoyed performing our Folk Songs and Finzi concert at the Elgar Concert Hall with the “remarkable little Westminster Chamber Orchestra”. We were praised for “such a wonderful homogeneity of tone from all four vocal sections, and the lightness of touch” with which our large choir delivers its singing. The Elgar hall was a lovely place to sing in, and we look forward to returning there on 6th November for our programme, Songs From a Changing World. (Read REVIEW.)
Our annual highlight is Birmingham’s own performance of Handel’s Messiah (Friday 2nd December), a City of Birmingham Choir tradition. With “a chamber sized CBSO and committed soloists”, we hope, once again, to bring you “seemingly effortless voice production – clean entries, clear text, a true joy”.
