Start your Christmas with our wonderful tradition – Handel’s Messiah.
A fabulous opportunity to enjoy a sparkling performance of Handel’s famous choral masterpiece, Messiah. Established in 1921, the City of Birmingham Choir has been thrilling audiences with annual performances of Handel’s Messiah for over 90 years. Performed in the acoustically perfect surroundings of Birmingham’s Symphony Hall with the world-famous CBSO, this is an opportunity to enjoy famous choruses such as ‘For unto us a child is born’ and arias ‘I know that my redeemer liveth’ and of course, as is the tradition, stand up and join in with possibly the world’s most well-known chorus, ‘Hallelujah!’
The Birmingham Post said:
“We were truly privileged to hear this fine performance by the inspired City of Birmingham Choir, a chamber sized CBSO and committed soloists. Musical Director Adrian Lucas was in control covering a breadth of emotions from all quarters. He has a truly splendid choir with everyone palpably performing to their utmost.”
